Chemistry
Introduction
Chemistry Department of House of Science & Technology (HSTO) provides professional leadership and management for the Chemistry learners to secure high quality learning and also reinforces the materials you have learned in the class and gives you a chance to apply your knowledge in the practical field.
HSTO Chemistry Department provides a proper instruction on preparing test solutions, analyzing organic and inorganic compounds, chemical testing and processing procedures including Mixing times, operating temperatures and ingredients.
HSTO Chemistry Department plays a leading role in developing Chemistry Curriculum of Schools through Practical experiments, and have prepared a complete Practical Guide of Chemistry Practical’s for 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th Grades.
In Chemistry lab of House of Science & Technology (HSTO) you will learn
- Chemical Synthesis and Analysis
- Technical scientific writing and record keeping.
- How to engage Chemical experiments
- Methods of Experiments
- Safe laboratory techniques, chemical handling and disposal.
HSTO focuses on following Chemistry Department Practical’s
- Inorganic
- Organic
- Analytical
- Physical
Beside the practical’s, modeling of different structures of chemistry is also included in HSTO Chemistry Department syllabus so that students can develop their abilities to deal with different Chemistry Issues.

Achievements
Practical guide books
HSTO has prepared a Complete Practical Guide for School Levels.
- Chemistry Practical Guide for Grade 7th.
- Chemistry Practical Guide for Grade 8th.
- Chemistry Practical Guide for Grade 9th.
- Chemistry Practical Guide for Grade 10th.
- Chemistry Practical Guide for Grade 11th.
- Chemistry Practical Guide for Grade 12th.
Space and rocket simulation
Departments of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering had a challenge of rocket lunch with the height of 10KM from Earth Surface. In this rocket lunch project all the materials and equipment’s of Rocket was prepared in HSTO labs.
This Rocket Lunch Project was experimented in 3 phases.
- Fuel Burning
- Rocket Departure
- Stable Rocket Departure
Training to 100 Chemistry teachers of private schools
Chemistry Department of House of Science & Technology gave a successful training of Chemistry practical experiments to 100 private schools of Afghanistan. In this training teachers got the training of most essential experiments which would be very beneficial for their knowledge and practical works for their students.
Besides the training, those tools and materials by which experiments were performed were also given to 100 Schools.
This training was funded by USAID with the cooperation of ASIA Foundation.
Scientific Trips
Today’s students are visual learners and a scientific trips lets them touch, feel and listen to what they are learning about, gain a better understanding of topics, build cultural understanding and tolerance.
HSTO plays a vital role in the school curriculum, which serves a wide range of benefits in several ways including learning and teaching, HSTO provides an environment where learners can come and explore their knowledge and learn new experiments. More than 3000 students have visited HSTO chemistry lab and has achieved required knowledge. Most of the scientific trips in HSTO contribute greatly to build self-confidence and foster a sense of teamwork and community.
